Dr. Arulthasan Rajkumar graduated and practiced veterinary medicine in Sri Lanka. He grew up milking goats on his family farm and spent more time around animals than his own home. At a very young age, Rajkumar developed a love for animals so fierce and passionate, it evolved into his number one life goal and aspiration; becoming a veterinarian.
When Dr. Raj came to Canada, he joined the University of Guelph as a VSTEP (Veterinary skills and Training Enhancement Program) participant. He graduated among 22 foreign trained vets from all over the world in small animal medicine. Dr. Raj then received critical care experience and practiced Emergency Medicine in Fort McMurry Animal Hospital, Alberta from 2007 - 2013. He has also done work in Woodstock Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Raj's areas of special interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry, internal and critical care medicine. Furthermore, he strongly believes in contributing to rescue groups and saving pets to ensure they endure a safe environment with respect and proper care. In the past, Dr. Raj has worked with Fort McMurry SPCA and is currently associated with Oxford County Animal Rescue, Pickering Animal Services, and Action Volunteers for Animals.
In his free time, Dr. Raj enjoys spending time with his family, dog, and cat; Mario and Jullian. Dr. Raj prioritizes empowering clients with knowledge in order to receive client compliance. He looks forward to meeting your pet and helping your pets live healthy and happy lives.
